Goldberg is reportedly returning soon to set up a match against the undefeated WWE star

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg probably hasn't competed in the ring yet.  According to Zero News, he may soon return at the Crown Jewel 2022 in Saudi Arabia.

We last saw the 55-year-old star square off against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022.

Goldberg battled The Tribal Chief in the main event, but eventually succumbed to Reigns' signature guillotine hold. in the middle of the ring.

Regarding Goldberg's long-term future, Fightful Select noted that "this is believed to be the last match on his current contract."  

A former Universal Champion himself, Goldberg confirmed earlier this year during an interview with Sports Illustrated that he had one match remaining on his contract, but would consider extending his run: "I'm on what's next.

Now, however, it is known what Goldberg's immediate future holds: what was once considered a huge dream match against the Reigns.

Whether or not fans will still react to Reigns vs. Goldberg is a different story.  Locker room morale in WWE is reportedly at an "all time low" at a time when WWE's full-time roster is paper thin and two of its biggest part-time stars, Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, are on their way to victory at the Royal Rumble. 

“Goldberg got concussed twice,” EC3 said. “It was kinda like an epic match, but it didn’t go according to great standards per se. It got kinda messy and ‘Taker almost got hurt. Goldberg was knocked out, and I remember on the plane how this affects guys even at the very top of their game or who have been to the top of the mountain, a performance that you’re not satisfied with, and then 18 hours to think about it alone in the darkness.”
